Hip Hop artist Suboi, along with three other savvy Vietnamese entrepreneurs were named to the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list. The prestigious annual list recognizes young innovators in ten industries across the continent.

Suboi, born Hang Lam Trang Anh in 1990 was listed in the Entertainment & Sports category. She is the first Vietnamese musician to be invited to the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. She became a media sensation after she did an impromptu rap for former US President Obama during his visit to Saigon last year. Suboi also walked the runway for fashion retailer H&M in 2016, promoting their Kenzo x line of sustainably sourced sportswear.

Forbes also listed Nguyen Hoang Trung, 27, founder of the food search app Lozi.
Trung studied Mathematics at Hanoi National University and in 2010 received a KAIST scholarship to study Computer Science in South Korea. Lozi was founded in 2012 with backing from the Vietnam Silicon Valley (VSV) project, receiving seven-digit funding from Golden Gate Ventures and DesignOne Japan in 2015. Currently, Lozi has more than 2,000 registered food establishments and 2.7 million regular users. In the next three years, Trung wants to add a service platform for users to make reservations, book special events, and expand his food delivery reach.

Also chosen by Forbes is Nguyen Hoang Hai, who created Canavi, a job search platform which reached 20,000 users within a year of being founded in 2015.

Canavi.vn was initially an HR website placing seasonal workers in all industries. In the mid-2016, Canavi received significant funding from eight angel investors. Hai graduated with a degree in Business Management from Hanoi RMIT University. Before establishing Canavi.vn, he was cofounder of ViVi Digital Company and a shareholder of AdsBNC.

The fourth lucky person on the list is Nguyen Hai Ninh, 29, the founder and CEO of two trendy cafe chains in Vietnam; Urban Station and The Coffee House. He graduated from the University of Technology Ho Chi Minh City with a major in chemistry. Ninh received investment capital of $1.8M USD for The Coffee House. Before that, he worked at Pepsi.
