Teen Drama New Box Office Record
October 30, 2015.
Grossing $1 million from 350,000 tickets, Yellow Flowers on The Green Grass broke the all-time box-office record for films in the drama category. Yellow Flowers is set in the late 1980s in a Vietnamese countryside and chronicles the life and challenges of a 12 year-old boy and his younger brother. Released in a time of rapid growth of the middle class, the film has deeply resonated with the more modern populace.
The film is expected to cross over $4 million after completing its theater run which would make it the second-highest grossing film across all genres.
