Lunar New Year holds a treasure trove of great stories in Vietnam, and we want to hear some of yours! Tell us your best Tet Lunar New Year stories, and you will be entered to win a luxury dining experience at Ho Chi Minh City’s finest hotel, Park Hyatt Saigon.

To join in the festivities this year, we are launching a storytelling competition asking our readers to submit a paragraph detailing their best experiences during the Lunar New Year. We will convert your entry into an article and publish it on VietnamAdvisors.com, then entries will be judged by promoting their article on our Facebook page. Hurry to enter, contest begins January 12, 2017 and ends on January 27, 2017. Winners will be posted on VietnamAdvisors.com on January 28, 2017. Here are the prizes and competition guidelines:

1st and 2nd Place – Each winner will receive One (1) Business Set Lunch Gift Certificate at Opera Restaurant

Park Hyatt Saigon, Vietnam’s premier luxury hotel is home to Opera, one of the best dining experiences in Ho Chi Minh City. Opera is a contemporary, casual Italian trattoria-style restaurant with alfresco dining overlooking the Saigon Opera House. This restaurant specialises in authentic pizza made fresh from a wood-fired oven, homemade pasta, and fresh Italian dishes prepared from a large open kitchen.

3rd and 4th Place – Each winner will receive One (1) Business Set Lunch Gift Certificate at Square One Restaurant

Square One is an atmospheric Ho Chi Minh City restaurant featuring simple and authentic Vietnamese and Western cuisine offered from an impressive display of integrated show kitchens to serve guests sitting in five different dining areas.

5th and 6th Place – Each winner will receive a Gift Certificate for One (1) Lemongrass Martini and One Order of Lemongrass Chicken Wings at 2 Lam Son

Park Hyatt Saigon not only features many of the best Saigon restaurants, but hosts a stylish, contemporary bar that adds to the vibrant nightlife of Ho Chi Minh City. The martini bar, 2 Lam Son is modern in design with a Vietnamese influence.

Guidelines: Submit one paragraph (maximum 150 words) detailing your favorite Lunar New Year experience via email to social@vietnamadvisors.com. You must include your full name, mailing address, and telephone number in the email entry. The topic can be anything Tet related. You will receive a confirmation e-mail after your submission has been received. We will then produce an article that includes your submission. You can then earn points for promoting your article on Facebook from January 14 through January 27, 2017 Pacific Standard Time.

To earn points, you must post the article on the VietnamAdvisors Facebook page. The ‘likes’ and ‘shares’ accrued on the post will determine how we score reader engagement. You can also earn MASSIVE points for having friends follow our Facebook page and subscribe to our newsletter. To finish the process, ask friends to leave a comment under the post in the VietnamAdvisors facebook page titled “Leave your referrals here!” The comment should detail who referred them, and whether they followed, subscribed, or both. Refer to the example below:

‘I both subscribed and followed. I was referred by Louie Nguyen.’

Scoring Guideline:

  • 5 points for every ‘like’ on your article post.
  • 20 points for every ‘share’ of your article post.
  • 40 points for every Facebook for every new Facebook follower. Followers must comment in the style referenced above.
  • 80 points for every new newsletter subscriber to Vietnamadvisors.com. Subscribers must comment in the style referenced above.

The entrants with the most points on January 27, 2017 will win gift certificates for the above. Certificates will be mailed to winners. All gift certificates must be used on or before April 30, 2017.
