Pokemon Go – Niantics’ mobile gaming phenomenon – reached Vietnam on August 6th.
As expected, it sent hordes of Vietnamese players across the streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh – their eyes glued to their screens and their hearts set on catching new Pokemon.
Vietnam, like many other Southeast Asian countries, harbors a young generation that grew up loving Pokemon. That generation is well aware of the Pokemon Go related robberies and accidents that have happened across the globe. But like true Pokemon masters, they game on anyway. The quest to become champion leaves no room for fear.
Their employers on the other hand, are less enthusiastic. Many have complained that the game hinders employee productivity. Below are some photos of Vietnamese citizens joining the global Pokemon craze.
